Heewoong Jin, Hyunji Kim
14.02-28.02.2015
Space One presents its first exhibition of 2015, is. HeeWoong Jin and HyunJi Kim interpret space and objects as phenomenon, depicting them with interventions that produce a number of shifts in the audiences’ senses. The two artists express sound and visual language as a whole experience, with various interactions of multiple meeting points.
HeeWoong JIN’s Is a Ghost Marching Next to Me? focuses on listening to what exists inside and outside of the space, especially that which doesn’t appear to interact with us. Using the windows, cracks in the walls, water cooler, doorstep, staircase and floors, he collects and amplifies their sounds in the space so that they coexist with the audience. HyunJi KIM relates different aspects of nature and the various sensitivities of humans.Stillness expresses the tranquillity of the life of the space, and the light of life is created in the interaction between the innocent sensitivities of the audience and the dark-as-lifeless space.
